Welcome to Inside KisanHub, a selection of interviews with the talented people behind the KisanHub software. This month we caught up (virtually) with Gaurav Shah, in our Customer Success team based in Pune, India.
Hi Gaurav! To kick things off please can you tell us a little bit about yourself and explain your role at KisanHub?
I am proud to say I come from a farming background and have been part of the KisanHub, as a Customer Success Manager, for the last three and a half years. My role involves the implement and adoption of the KisanHub app on the ground and to ensure that growers can use the app in the most efficient way, as we know how precious their time is.

You’ve previously worked in the Agrochemicals industry, what motivated you to move to a agri-tech start-up?
Previously I worked for a large Pesticide company, because I wanted to understand more on what helps the growers produce better crops. I soon realised that pests and diseases are only one part of the puzzle to improving the quantity and quality of our food. That is why I was motivated to join the KisanHub, to work with a team that has built a tool to support every grower and every part of the supply chain. I come from an agricultural family background, so this purpose really resonated with me.
What are you working on right now?
The onboarding our new customers and introducing them to the KisanHub platform. I make sure this journey for both our new and existing customers is a smooth one during the season. My focus is to ensure that the process of 'seed to sale' happens in the most hassle-free manner for everyone and provide the support and assistance to our clients, so they can get value by using our app.
As a Customer Success manager, I completely understand the importance of capturing the right data at the right time. Every data point has significant value as business decisions are dependent on these data sets. So, I have to always keep an eye on whether growers understand the app correctly or not, and how they are entering the data.
What do you most enjoy about being part of the KisanHub team?
Without a doubt, it is the time I spend with growers and clients, which is the majority of my time, I love it! Every day I see how our software makes a sustainable impact in farming and how we produce our food.
Do you have a work mantra that you go by?
The more value KisanHub brings, the more engagement from growers and therefore more client satisfaction.
Finally, as a tech start-up working in the agri-food industry, do you have a favourite vegetable or fruit?
I do have a favourite crop, which is Sugarcane. The reason being, this crop gives maximum return with the least amount of labour effort. It is commonly grown here in the Western part of India, in the states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. If you ever have the chance to try freshly pressed sugarcane juice, it is incredibly tasty!
