Last week, the KisanHub Customer Success and Sales team visited the potato seed breeder variety trials at the Caythorpe and Coldham sites.
It was an interesting and insightful day - meeting representitives of: HZPC, Stet, IPM, Germicopa, Grampian Growers, Solana and Meijer.
Generally the yields and quality of the varieties looked really good. Both sites had followed a good irrigation programme this season, however some of the older varieties used as a comparison had shown poorer yields and poorer quality.
A lot of the newer varieties (both processing and fresh) are concentrating on PCN resistance and tolerance, but still promising good taste attributes.
It was a good chance to see how businesses are progressing with the KisanHub platform. Those using the system had found the tuber counts, size splits and yields from the output of the Potato Dashboard extremely helpful and have collated this data to plan storage and sales for the year ahead.
Each event we attend, it seems that technology and driving efficiencies are the talking points. Talking to growers, breeders, agronomists and enterprise management it is obvious that KisanHub's platform provides a solution to the issues faced within poto production currently, and it brings up some interesting discussion points.
If you would like to hear more about the platform please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
The next event we are attending is Potato Europe - 12th & 13th September, Germany - Stand ZD25. Please do come and say hello if you are also going to be there!
